Bulk Flower FAQ
What Flowers are Available?
Since we grow everything on our farm, what flowers are available varies throughout the seasons. In spring (March-May), we’ll have beautiful anenomes, ranunculus, tulips, foxglove, delphinium, hyacinth, bellflowers, and snapdragons. In summer (June-August), we’ll have zinnias, dahlias, lisianthus, sunflowers, marigolds, cosmos, grasses, and gomphrena. In autumn (September-October), expect more of the same summer flowers, plus chrysanthemums and eucalyptus.
No matter the season, we will include a variety of different types of blooms, colors, textures, and greenery in each bucket.
How many Buckets do I need?
Plan on using most of a bucket for a bridal bouquet, and making 2 to 3 bridesmaid bouquets per additional bucket. For table arrangements, budget for at least one bucket for every 4-5 mason jar-sized arrangements or 8-10 bud vases. The average wedding order is 5 or 6 buckets.
Can You Accommodate other color Palettes?
Yes. We are happy to curating different color palettes than our ‘Bright & Bold’ or ‘Soft Pastel’ palettes. You must first email us at info@humbleumbelfarm.com to make sure we can accommodate the request. Curated buckets beyond the colors we offer online will come at an additional cost.
Where Can I Pick-Up?
Pick up on the farm Monday through Friday between 8am-4pm. We are located about 10 minutes north of the Hillsborough. A staff member will be there to help load your flowers and answer any questions.
You can also pick up on Saturday at the Chapel Hill or Carrboro Farmer’s Market between 7am-noon.
Once you place an order, you will receive an email 1-2 weeks before your chosen pick up date to confirm the date and time, and in that email we will detail the pick up protocol.
Why are Flowers Available only March 15 through October 15?
We only offer our specialty floral services during the peak of our flower season.
If you would like flowers outside if this time window, visit us at the farmers market to see what we have available, or shop with one of the many talented local florists in our area (we recommend Pine State Flowers and Blossom & Bone).
Once I pick up my flowers, what do I Do with them?
Store your flowers in a dark/cool location until your event. An air conditioned room without direct sun (like a garage or basement) is perfect. Make sure flowers stems have enough fresh clean water in their vases/buckets. Our flowers are fresh as can be from the field, with proper care as outlined above, flowers should last about a week!
